Information Technology and Moral Philosophy Information technology is an integral part of the practices and institutions of postindustrial society. It is also a source of hard moral questions and thus is both a probing and a relevant area for moral theory. Another justification for this book is that existing anthologies tend to be narrower in scope than The Handbook of Information and Computer Ethics. For example, many anthologies cover only a limited set of topics that affect one or more subfields of information ethics; as a result, these works often exclude some of the controversies and issues.

The book I chose for this week assignment 1 is "Computing the Future" by Hartmanis, Juris Lin. This book help me enhanced my knowledge how computers and computer science are important part of our lives. From the research I did this week, I was able to narrow down my tops to introduction.

The following passage, from Maner's ETHICOMP95 keynote address, drew a number of other people into the discussion: I have tried to show that there are issues and problems that are unique to computer ethics. For all of these issues, there was an essential involvement of computing technology.publications([{ "lang": "en", "type_publi": "icolcomlec", "doi": "", "title": "Spotlight on Off-Screen Points of Interest in.
